Published annually from 1974 onward, at the instigation of François Lesure, the Cahiers Debussy are a valuable means of communication for the members of the Association of the Centre de documentation Claude Debussy. Over the years, the Cahiers Debussy have gained in both the quality and quantity of their content, and have become a learned publication of internationally high repute.
The goals of the Cahiers Debussy are:
- to publish articles on the current state and background of Debussy studies in the fields of musicology, history and aesthetics.
- to put the composer into the artistic context of his time, with particular regard to the special relationships the musician entertained with poets and plastic artists.
- to provide information through regular features (news, bibliography, discography and videography) on the current context of the promotion and performance of Debussy's work.
